Past Project 1
Past Project Samples
Supported the successful tenderers in executing and delivering the transformative Queensland Government Wireless Network (GWN) project, one of the largest ICT transactions undertaken at the time. This initiative created a unified and secure wireless communication network for emergency services, including ambulance, fire, and police departments, ensuring modernised communication infrastructure essential for Queensland’s public safety. The project also played a critical role in preparing for the G20 Summit in Brisbane, where network security and efficiency were vital for the safety of world leaders.
The project team engaged closely with key government stakeholders, including Queensland Treasury, to navigate the diverse priorities and ensure alignment across departments. Regular collaboration fostered a transparent approach that expedited decision-making processes, meeting the tight project deadlines. Direct work with emergency services ensured their operational needs were incorporated into the procurement process, bridging the gap between technical requirements and governmental oversight.
Additionally, we collaborated with the bid and delivery teams to address emerging issues, maintain open communication, and align project execution with government expectations. Strategic guidance and coordination were pivotal to the project’s timely and successful delivery. The GWN continues to provide robust and secure communication capabilities for Queensland’s emergency services, demonstrating our proven ability to manage complex, high-stakes initiatives.
Past Project 2
Played a significant role in shaping Queensland Treasury’s guidelines for Market-Led (or Unsolicited) Infrastructure Proposals. This involved extensive collaboration with Treasury officials to develop a framework enabling innovative private-sector solutions to meet public needs. Contributions ensured the guidelines were practical, transparent, and aligned with government objectives and private sector capabilities.
Building on this foundational work, led several high-profile unsolicited proposals under both LNP and ALP governments. One example was involvement in the International Parking Group’s proposal to expand the car park at the Prince Charles Hospital. Designed to provide additional parking capacity without upfront taxpayer costs or increased parking fees, the project required engagement with builders and financial modelers to create a sustainable solution. Coordination with senior bureaucrats, local hospital leaders, and other stakeholders ensured the proposal addressed government and community priorities.
The proposal successfully passed all stages of the approval process, reflecting its robust design and stakeholder alignment. However, despite broad support and policy alignment, the project was ultimately shelved due to a last-minute policy shift by the ALP State Government. Although the project was not realised, it highlights the potential of well-crafted market-led proposals and demonstrates expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments, building strong stakeholder relationships, and delivering innovative solutions to public infrastructure challenges.
Past Project 3
Successfully built internal capabilities within organisations to manage government and corporate relations issues, reducing reliance on external consultants. The approach focuses on equipping teams with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to navigate complex stakeholder environments effectively. By fostering a collaborative culture and providing targeted coaching, organisations are well-prepared to manage ongoing interactions with government and other critical stakeholders.
In one instance, guided an executive team and a stakeholder relations staff member in transforming their capabilities following the award of a major contract. The contract required regular engagement with government—a new responsibility for the organisation. Recognising the significance of this moment, developed a tailored coaching program to address their unique challenges and opportunities. This included strategic advice on stakeholder engagement, creating processes for managing government interactions, and conducting workshops to build confidence and understanding across the team.
Through this process, the team evolved into a highly effective unit capable of independently managing complex government relations tasks. This transformation not only enabled them to meet the immediate demands of the contract but also positioned the organisation for future success in navigating government and corporate environments. This example demonstrates expertise in empowering teams, fostering self-sufficiency, and building long-term value for organisations.
